CHECKPOINT AUDIO HOMEPAGE

Checkpoint Audio is a unique project, led by Eelco Grimm, comprising a book in Dutch and two cd's. These give both the professional sound engineer and the audiophile a set of tools to set-up and tune sound systems.
Eelco Grimm has been technical editor and chief editor of the well respected Dutch magazine ProAudio+Visie from 1991 to 2000. He further published in Hifi Video Test. Nowadays he runs his own recording facilities Fairytapes and is part-time professor at the Utrecht School of Arts, Faculty of Art Media & Technology, tutoring Music Technology.

In his journalistic period he collected unique and valuable knowledge on adjusting, testing and reviewing a wide range of audio equipment. It is this knowledge that he wanted to consolidate in writing so it can be passed on to the next generation of audio professionals and hobbyists. It took him four years to complete Checkpoint Audio, aided by audio specialists from all over the world. Checkpoint Audio comes with a set of two cd's comprising the most complete collection of test and sound tracks ever.

Cd #1 is meant for audible judgements

Placing of loudspeakers
Setting playback levels
Judging acoustics
Handpicked music fragments from the best recordings available
Hearing test (to test the most important instrument: our ears)

CD #2 contains measurement signals

Judgement of digital resolution, also during production
Testing measurement instruments
Measurements on all analogue and digital audio equipment.
Adjustment of analogue tape recorders and cassette recorders.
And a lot more

Checkpoint Audio does not limit itself to a small segment of the audio field. Sound reinforcement, studio equipment, stereo and surround monitoring or the hifi or surround set at home, Checkpoint Audio helps you to optimise your system.
